Scope of Services
The 219 East Lake Shore Drive Condominium Association wanted to add a rooftop addition to their Chicago landmark building to provide additional amenities for residents. The existing roof was used only for mechanical and elevator equipment and was not accessible to tenants. Alexander & Associates, Ltd. proposed a three (3) phase construction scheme that would provide valuable amenities, while spacing out the construction. Phase I consisted of extending the passenger elevator and stair penthouses to service the new roof deck level. A small elevator lobby, men and women’s toilets are included in this phase. Phase II added a new Party/Exercise room located directly behind the Phase I roof deck. This room is accessible from the new elevator lobby. Phase III added east and west roof decks including new cabanas for residential use. When construction is complete, this lakeside condominium will not only increase its property value, but have new space from which to enjoy spectacular views of the City.
