Scope of Services

Originally built in the late 1960's, this reinforced concrete frame office building had never undergone a major exterior wall repair program. ALEXANDER & ASSOCIATES, LTD. was called upon to evaluate the condition of the exterior walls, prepare the necessary repair documents and provide construction administration services during the course of the work. Services consisted of preliminary evaluation of the exterior wall concrete, sealant and glazing, followed by preparation of repair drawings and specifications. Services included bid solicitation, evaluation of bids received and a recommendation for contract award. Construction administration included three (3) close-up inspections at each scaffold drop: 1) initial inspection to mark out the required repairs, 2) intermediate inspection to evaluate the condition of the substrate and measure the depth of concrete removal and 3) final inspection to evaluate the quality of the completed repairs and measure the area of the concrete patches. Upon completion of the repairs, the building was completely coated with a protective water resistant paint.
