Scope of Services

Originally built in 1972, this large townhouse complex had been experiencing maintenance problems with their deteriorating wood siding, eaves, gutters and downspouts.  ALEXANDER & ASSOCIATES, LTD. was called upon to evaluate the feasibility of vinyl siding vs. aluminum and to prepare design sketches of each townhouse type.  Numerous meetings were held with the Board and the entire Association to establish design approach and color schemes. Following the preparation of design sketches, one building of each type was bid out in several different ways to verify early cost estimates and make modifications as required to meet budget.  Upon receipt of preliminary bids, the construction drawings and specifications were completed and the project was sent out again for final bids. Construction began with the re-siding of three different building types located near the main entry to the complex for all to see.  Vinyl siding used is “Monogram, “Mainstreet” and “Cedar Impressions” all by CertainTeed Corporation.  The eaves and aluminum wrap of fascias and trim is by Reynolds Metals Company.  The project is expected to continue through the completion of all the units.
