2-story rear addition to a single family residence in north suburban Northbrook.
Scope of Services
In 2000, the Pocklop hired ALEXANDER & ASSOCIATES, LTD. to desing an addition to their single family home in Northbrook. Much to our excitement, when it came time to move again the Pocklops hired ALEXANDER & ASSOCIATES, LTD. to once again design the addition to their new house.
The original house was completely gutted to the first floor and a two-story addition was added to the rear of the house and above the existing shell. The aluminum siding was removed from the exterior and replaced with a mission style look of cedar siding, brick and stone.
Open spaces and natural light was achieved with minimal wall separations between rooms and several windows placed throughout the facade. A gourmet kitchen was incorporated, complete with cherry wood cabinetry, granite countertops, a tile backsplash and stainless steel appliances. Built-in shelving and other customized features were included to accomodate the family's unique collections.
